Setup guide

Install Wayfare & turn on reminders

Get arrival alerts, 60-min and 15-min reminders, and offline access by installing the app and enabling notifications. Takes under a minute.

Install on iPhone / iPad

iOS 16.4 or later — use Safari

    Open wayfare in Safari (not Chrome — iOS only allows installs from Safari).

    Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.

    Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. 4
    Open Wayfare from your home screen icon — not from Safari — to enable push notifications.

Install on Android

Chrome, Edge, or Samsung Internet

    Open Wayfare in Chrome.
  2. 2
    Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
  3. 3
    Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen) and confirm.
  4. 4
    Launch Wayfare from your home screen to finish setup.

Turn on reminders

Required for trip alerts to arrive

    Open any trip from My trips.
  2. 2
    Tap Enable reminders at the top of the trip and accept the browser permission.
  3. 3
    You'll get pushes 60 minutes and 15 minutes before each leg, plus an arrival ping when you reach the meeting point.

Reminders not arriving?

  • On iOS, you must launch Wayfare from the home-screen icon, not Safari.
  • Check system Settings → Notifications → Wayfare and allow alerts, sounds, banners.
  • Turn off Focus / Do Not Disturb, or add Wayfare as an allowed app.
  • On Android, disable battery optimization for your browser so background pushes aren't blocked.

Offline access (bonus)

Once installed, your itinerary, pickup details, and last-known GPS work without a signal. Check-ins you tap offline queue up and sync automatically when you reconnect.
